The staff at camp hatterass recomended this place to me. o'Neals Sea Harvest It is in Wanchese so I recommend stopping on your way to the camp ground unless you are making another trip back that way.

I haven't tried their cook seafood but we buy it and take it back and cook it. It comes off the boat on one side of the building and you take it out the other side.

Would appreciate any suggestions on places to eat or buy fresh seafood on the NC Outer Banks. Will be there next week at the Cape Hatteras KOA.

I think the best restaurants would be in the AVON area not far from where you'll be. I was there last week. Buxton has a couple of good family restaurants. Going all the way to Manteo is about an hours drive. I guess stopping there on the way down and just picking up the seafood you want would be the best alternative. Most places should be open for the season next week. That wasn't the case last week. I think I saw a lot of constuction at Cape Hatteras KOA while passing by. It looks as if they are going the modular permanant camper route. Enjoy!

Close to the KOA in Rodanthe is a restaurant called the "Salty Dog". Its simple fare with fresh fish and a beachy atmosphere.
There used to be a fresh seafood market in Rodanthe as well called Austin's but it may now be closed.
