Like others said the smell should go away. If it doesn't then you should return it. We aired ours (outside) for a day before bringing it inside and it was fine.

Even our expensive Tempurpedic had an odor for a few days. They recommend having the kids walk around on it etc. Our inexpensive bed in a box mattress' too had odor. It goes away quickly so don't plan on sleeping on it the first night if it bothers you. Just let it sit up against the wall to air. You will not regret buying one.

We have one and didn't have a problem with order. Best price we found was from Overstock.com, they have seveal to choose from, we go a Serta Cailforina King 2 inch and love it.

I have also heard about "BODY" odors developing using these foam toppers. I had one on my bed for a while and got rid of it because it didn't breathe. It was like sleeping on a plastic sheet. It made me feel sweaty, sticky... I didn't care for it at all. I got rid of it long before it could develop funky odors.

The smell from mine was gone after one day once opened. Not an unpleasent smell, just different.

We just bought a memory foam topper this season, it had a very slight odor but after being in the camper (hybrid) and the camper opened up that weekend it is all gone now. It made all the difference in the world in sleeping experience in our Hybrid. That was the best purchase we ever made for our Hybrid.

Ours smelled like mint when we got it. Bought specifically for low odor. We now have them on all beds at home too.
