I am unable to use several bookmarked sites after doing so in the past.
One is my credit card that I payoff every month. Sites opens up and it asks for my user I.D. Once entered, it asks for my secret question. Once entered, it takes me to a second screen where I enter my password. Upon hitting enter, it takes me back to the password page and says" You have entered the wrong user I.D. or password, please reenter. Doing it s second or third time brings me back to the password page.
My brokerage account asks for my user I.D.. I enter it, hit enter and it asks me a security question. Once entered, it brings me back to the user I.D. page, then to the security question, back to the password page. The password also has an emblem to identify before entering passworrd.
I initially thought it was the credit card site but a phone call to them, they said their site was O.K. Cookies are not the problem. I have searched to make sure that these sites are not being denied access. My second lap top allows me to get to both of these sites without issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

It might be caps lock, It might be identity theft.
It might just be a browser issue.
I have a few pages I can not log into with Firefox (When I say a Few I mean my brother can count them on the fingers of one hand.. The one with the missing fingers)

Don't forget to check the "Numbers Lock" as well. If you're on a laptop!

Not a "caps lock" issue. Only problems are with the 2 mentioned. Have 6-7 other sites that work O.K. This lap top only. Other lap top works fine.
I know I am on the correct sites because they are identical for both computers and show the "lock" symbol and are "https". The credit card site, after the user I.D. is inputted, shows my balance and pending charges.

I tend to be overly cautious about using computers with my banking information. You could be having a browser issue or you could have picked up some malware that is redirecting your browser.
Are both computers using the same browser (internet explorer, firefox, chrome)? It could be a browser setting. I recently stopped being able to post on this forum using a different computer. It turned out that I had forgotten the I disabled java on the second computer. Once I enable java my posting issue went away.
Here's what I would do if it was my computer and I couldn't find an obvious easy fix. First I would use the computer that does not seem to have a problem and change the banking passwords. You can always write the passwords down and change them back to the originals if you decide that nothing is wrong.
I would verify that my antivirus program was up to date and run a full scan.
Then I would download malwarebytes (free for the trial version) and run a full scan. If it finds anything it will tell you so.
I would then allow malwarebytes to clean the problems it found and then reboot the computer.
I would run both scans again and see if they come up clean. If they come up clean I would then try the banking site to see how it works.

Many financial sites use an extra security measure and if you log on from a different computer than when you originally signed up, it will ask for a secret questions answer. It knows which computer you signed up on and will not let you sign in on another computer unless you answer the secret question correctly. Usually once you answer the secret question correctly, it will also recognize the additional computer in the future. While this can be frustrating, it also prevents someone from accessing your account if they steal your login info unless they also know the answer to your secret question.

Great! With only a userid, you get your balances. Why have I been wasting time with companies that also require a password.
If the same sites keep asking for the answers to your security questions, it's likely that your browser is clearing some needed information at the end of each browsing session. I use IE 9 mostly and discovered that I can set it to clear history, cookies, etc after each session EXCEPT for sites that I have in my Favorites.

Did you change browsers? Each browser has to be able to store a cookie to get you on without going through the extra step. Are you using Chrome. Tools, settings, under the hood, content settings, (check)Allow local data to be set (recommended)
This somehow recently got unchecked on my computer.
