The quick connector on my air access valve seems to be some kind of strange, non-standard fitting. I would like to be able to connect a standard air fitting for adding air to my tires, but cannot because of this strange fitting. I have tried to remove it so that I can install a standard air fitting, but it seems siezed on, a steel male thread in a brass female fitting with some black goop in the threads. Don't know if heat would loosen it or not.
Just bought my coach in February, so I don't know where this strange fitting came from. I can't believe it is stock Tiffin hardware. Any ideas on removing this thing?

Use a small pipe wrench on the tubing and a good upon end or tubing wrench (5-side). That way you can really put the pressure on. It will give.

Why not give Tiffin a call and see what brand and type of fitting they used on your MH and just change the male end on your hose.

I have a 2005 Allegro Bus and I called Tiffin and they told me what to buy. I don't remember the type.

Believe it or not, there are two standards for air fittings. I'm not sure of the terminology but it might be as simple as a trip to Northern Tool or Herbor Freight with the male fitting you know won't work & get the other type. As was suggested a call to Tiffin might help.

I was finally able to make out the words Style A on the sleeve of the female connector, so I think I am looking for a male style A fitting. Thanks for your help.

Although there are as many as 20 different types of air fittings, the two most common types are Automotive and Type A, most commonly known as Industrial. Both are available at Lowes, Home Depot or Harbor Freight.
