We just recently purchased a used 2006 Coachmen Spirit of America 29tbs! This is our first camper. We do have another one but we usually just used it for sleeping whenever we went camping with the in-laws.

The awning needs to be replaced but we are going to try not having one (trying to save money) and see how it goes . . . does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? We have one of the pop-up canopy tents, but I was hoping to come up with something that would actually cover the door when you walked out. Mainly to keep water out of the trailer when its raining.

Thanks!

I've seen used awnings on Craigslist under RV. It's worth a try!

I would try your local RV dealer. Often they have awnings in stock that were taken off trailers that were going into seasonal campgrounds and were having screen rooms attached.

Alaska is next! Still trying to fit the pontoons to the RV so We can get to Hawaii!

I sold a used awning last year with all hardware for $250. In the grand scheme of things that is what i would do, Look for a used on.

Check Used RV Parts in your state. Some RV Techs should tell you about a local one. I bought a replacement for my 5th wheel from a dealer in Tampa,FL last year for $95. Had a few pin holes and poor stiching in a couple of spots, but they were covered up with Silicon caulking. You just got to check them first.
