there are a couple of campgrounds just North or West Yellowstone (Rainbow Point) and I really can't remember the name of the other one. Most of the rest of the available will be RV parks.

I'd like to join Mike of zmotorsports in his resentment of Grizzly being for "old people" but "old" probably begins somewhere before my age. Nonetheless, Grizzly we thought was excellent last August. In town, near the gate to the park (toad in one day), and pick-up by an excellent driving tour company for another day made it all very convenient. Would be happy to share any info on that if someone cares to PM.

Next time I'd like to try Henry's based on board comments in the last 2 years.
But, but, but - We didn't go there for yet another CG - Instead it was for and we spent all of our time in Yellowstone. We drove by several of the local CG's and didn't see any that would raise our concern for rig or personal safety.
We did stay at Grizzy for 2 nights but our interest was in relaxing with a nice glass of wine and discussing what we'd seen.

BTW The above stay at Grizzy was followed by 5 days at Fishing Bridge when 2 years ago there was no power due to issues. While we enjoyed the company, while at Grizzy we saw some W Yellowstone entrance sights that we would have otherwise missed.
And BTW If you want to fret over something then fret about after 600,000 years Yellowstone is overdue for a big blowup - the last one took 10,000 years for earth to recover and you and I won't survive the next one.

FrontRangeRVer wrote: The two nice commercial parks are Grizzly (overrated, but popular with older people, has no amentities, no pool or hot tub, but in town and has nice sites), and the KOA slightly out of town (very nice indoor pool with adult hot tub).

I just love these quotes about old people. We have a ranch in Wyoming and sell hay. My wife gets calls everyday from people in their late 30s and early 40s asking if her husband can load hay because it is too much for them to do. She just tells them her husband, me, throws 80 pound bales of hay all day and he is in his mid 70s. If you can't load your hay you shouldn't own horses. I really get a kick out of some of these youngsters who never worked a day in their lives. LOL.

We stayed here once
Tiny place but very nice folks. You can walk to downtown West Yellowstone in a couple of blocks. They have excellent electricity and hookups and at a fraction of the cost of the Grizzly park. It is rustic in that the spaces are gravel but our 40 footer with four slides and a toad fit fine.

We stayed at Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone in August 2010, great place to stay. We are fairly young retiree's and couldn't care less if a place has a pool/hot tub. Do you know how much sweat is released in a hot tub from other people....I would rather use my own at home.
We travel to explore new places then relax at the motorhome at the end of the day. Pools and spa'a are not at the top of our list for RV parks.
