I bought the Magellen unit last week, tried to update it and would not work, called tech support after 2 hrs they determined it was defective , took it back to Camping World got another. Hooked it up to update and register it works good. We took off on a short trip 2 days later turned its self off and will not restart, tried hooking up to computer, no go. So back to Camping World and getting the Rand, maybe it will work longer than 2 days. Another down side to the Magellan is I cannot see the screen with my Polarized sunglasses.

Nice thread??? Just purchased one from CW, just love it so far. Does everything our Garmin did and then some. Waited for the Rand McNally to drop their price, guess that is not to be. I had a Magellan before and really liked many of the features, sure we will love this one. Will write a follow-up after we get a chance to use it a few times. Enjoy rv'ing.

We use to call old old Magellan, "Maggie". The new RV oriented one needed a new name. "Tell 'em Large Marge sent ya!!"

Ya I just bought one too. Love the big screen. Have had a small Magellan for years and happy that the new one is just as easy to use!

Well should not have deleted the original post, bought the 9165T, got it home tried to update it, does not work, spent 2.5 hrs with tech support, they said it was defective. I took it back to Camping World and got another, got it home updated it and it works great; next day leave on a short trip works getting to my destination 2 days later take it on a short 20 mi. trip it stops working, 6hrs later plug it in and it starts working again, leave it plugged in for 2 days keeps working. Get ready to come home hook it up in the truck 20 Mi down the road it shut off tried different power sources even my inverter no go. get home 6 hrs later plug it into the house and it comes on, whats up with this thing? It's going back to Camping World tomorrow and gonna get the Rand 7710 I guess.
