We are going to make a change in RVs going from our 5th Wheel to a used DP. One of the units we are considering is a 2006 Monaco Knight 40PDQ. It has the 8 bag Roadmaster chassis so I do not believe the trailing arm issue applies but are there inherent issues that you folks have knowledge of? It has a 330 HP Cummins and not many miles. There are probably some who would never buy a Monaco but I just need some idea of any known big problems. Thanks in advance!

No trailing arm issues on the 8 bag. That was strictly a 4 bag issue.

Cummins C engine and Allison 3000 are both bomb-proof if they have been maintained.

Monaco built a very good coach in that era. Our 2005 is the best we have ever owned and we have NOT found anything better to date, in the same class. IMO, you can't go wrong with that coach.

We have a 2007 Monaco Knight 40PDQ and have been fulltime with it for almost 5 years now. The only thing that we wished we had done when we bought it was to have four corner weighed it BEFORE we loaded it. We run very close to the max weight on the rear axle but then again we carry everything we own with us. We love the coach and have put almost 50,000 miles on it.

If you need help with a item, call 800-634-0855 as the new LLC still has many of the same service people. Give them the las 6 of the vin and they can answer any question.

This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.
