Oh how I know how much the Forum just loves tire threads! But, in a recent trailer Life letter to the editor. A couple who had been full timing for over 15 years wrote about how having tires that were fully steel belted had been their answer to tire problems. (Vs tires that have steel belted on the tread only) They stated that they had zero blowouts over their 15 years. So, what tires are fully belted, tread and sidewall? AND ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA!!!

Go to tirerack.com and seach for steel sidewall. I ended up at the Michellin XPS. Full steel all the way round. Expensive, but the reviews seem to make it worth the $300/tire price.

In 16" LRG Goodyear G614 and LRE Michelin XPS Rib and Bridgestone Duravis R250 and R895. There is also a little known Goodyear 16" LRE steel carcass offering that is very costly.

Be careful about BUYING from the Tire Rack however. They will not guarantee age of "new" tires they sell. Could be YEARS old. Ask them what age they will guarantee.

But that's why their pricing is so much lower than other dealers.

I like the Tirerack as a reference source. However, my local Bridgestone dealer installed new DuraVis on my TV (mount, balance, steel valve stem) for only 20 dollars more. No brainer.

What did the DuraVis cost and which one did you end up using....mount, balance, steel valve stems for only $20 is a "norm", at least it's been my experience, unless I come into a sales deal where all that is free, and I've also enjoyed that more than several times,

Again, just wanted to know the size tire you purchased and cost if you don't mind. I've had the XPS ribs and know they are a great tire and now have the GY G614RST tires and know that both the Ribs and G614's are expensive to say the least. I can't use an "E" rated tire, but am curious to know the price on the DuraVis......thank you.
