These two items are something that I have not totally decided on if I need them or not (at least for this first trip). We will be staying at the Topsail RV (State Park) in Florida.
We will most likely bring our bottled water with us and not drink their water. My main concern if water for coffee and cooking. So will I still need a filter?
I already have a 50 amp to 30 amp dogbone to make sure I get the full 30 amps of power. If I am talked into getting a surge protector will there be any issues with the dogbone and then the surge protector plugged into the dogbone?

I have used the water there many times for coffee etc. Was fine by me. You never know when you will need a surge, this is not a campground specific need.

We stayed at TopSail one time for a two-week period. The water seemed fine to me.
We also had no problem with power quality.
BUT, there are two camps with strong opinions regarding surge protection (Those that believe in them completely and those that don't think they are worthwhile at all. And I honestly don't know who is right.
I converted over to the camp that says they are good insurance.
Our surge protection unit tripped a number of times due to apparent voltage irregularities. I compared notes with another camper who had a fancy unit with a meter that read the actual voltage. In each instance my unit tripped from high voltage conditions.

If you don't need them anywhere else you won't need them anywhere. It really has little to do with the particular RV park you're in.

The problem is when you find out you need a surge protector it's too late.
Carbon filters (which are mainly what people use) are for bad taste and odors, but won't do anything for bacteria. It all depends on how sensitive you guys are to funny tasting water.
If the water at the park is contaminated you'll have to boil it anyway.

Had sand in our water. Hence, the water filter. Almost fried our shiny, new $2,000 inverter. Hence, the surge protector. And I'm an optimist!

You should not have to have a reason to get a multi-function surge protector...might also suggest the same for a water pressure regulator also

If you feel you MIGHT need the filter or the protecter and you do not get them, then you will fret about it the whole time.
If in doubt, go ahead and get them. The peace of mind is worth every penny.
By the way we use a simple Camco in-line filter and no power conditioner. I do keep a vilt meter and citcuit tester plugged in all the time.

Will there be any issues with the dogbone and then the surge protector and then my power cord?
