Thanks for the replies. I liked them on my F250, right now bank is busted so I will have to wait and see. My pin is 2800 loaded plus hitch and passengers. In my 250 I used to run at about 50psi.

You may not need them for the weight carrying ability but I feel they work to same way as an air pin. On a rough road they help to smooth out the front trailer bounce. Can't go wrong with them.

Very good point, after having mine I would not want to be without them, sag or no sag

In our case we do not need them but I find the ride to be much smoother with them. My pin weight is just enough to have the 1 ton leaves barely touch their mounts. On smooth roads it is fine but pulling around the off road courses we call freeways in so- cal causes the rear end to bounce on and off the springs.

Check out the Torklift StableLoads. Airbags might not be needed.

My Uncle says air bags helped the stability of his 1 ton dually. Go figure.

I have them and like them for a few reasons:
1) Help level out the load so I don't get brighted by people at night thinking that I have my bright lights on.
2) Smooth out the ride
3) Aid in hitching and unhitching. My airbags air up and down faster than my landing gear - so for a minor adjustment while hitching I often use the bags.
4) My driveway is sloped to the point where I air down while backing in to raise the rear of the trailer so it just barely doesn't scrape.

This of course assumes you spring for the in-cab controller and have an on-board air compressor (which I do for my pac-brake).

If you dont have an adequate suspension system to handle the weight dont add crutches like air bags to try to make up for it. Get a heavier duty truck like the F350.

kab449 has the right answer: Not so much for lift (but that's nice), but it sure took out a lot of bounce and smoothed out the trip. Had Timbrens, not bad, but went to a heavier trailer last fall. Airbags did a great job for me.
