I am looking at purchasing two 245/75/22.5 goodyear g661 hsa steer tires and I am looking for anyones input as to how goodyear tires are preforming. I know the g670 has not had alot of good reviews but I am hoping some of you are running the g661 and how it is holding up.

I have about 35000 miles with a DOT date of Sept of 2006 and have had no problems with my GY670's.

The tires are 295x80x22.5 (I think).

If you're getting your negative info (flaming) here on the forum, take it with a grain of salt. No matter what brand of ANYTHING....posters here will slam it.

I've had Goodyears since day 1....and except for a blowout in Texas some years ago (ran over something)....nary a problem.

Good luck with your choice!

GY has zero customer suypport and still produce the worst RV tire ever made. There are plenty of good choices. Better tires and less $$. Flaming?? I don't think so. Google the definition of flaming.

The same thing can be said about Michelin. So best not look at the two top selling manufacturers.

I just tried to get a couple of Goodyears for my class A and they were available in 10 days-2 weeks. I went with Toyo which was overnight.

Considering the tens of thousands of Goodyear and Michelin tires that are out there, and the fact that those two brands are used exclusively on most new RV's for decades, their record for performance is outstanding.
Sure some of those off brands MAY perform well, but they all, in total, represent a very tiny fraction of the RV tires in use, so no valid comparison can be made. One person having good luck with some Korean tire is no guaranty that every one of that manufacturer's truck tires are great.

Topflite51: What Moisheh said would happen to be true! I will give you my side of Goodyears customer support. At 6000 miles my G670's started rivering and I called Goodyear about this. They stated there was not a problem with the tires but a MH problem. I googled "goodyear rivering" and came up with hundreds of threads on this subject however. Granted not everyone is having this problem, but for those of us that are it is real and after changing tire brands no more problem. They told me to get a front end alignment, balance and to rotate them front to rear. The alignment shop said it was within specs. and then had the tires dismounted and rotated to the rear. Now at 34000 miles all 6 tires are rivering and the front have broken through the outside tread and causing flat spots with a shimmy in the steering wheel(tires are still in good ballance). I called Goodyear customer service and again was told it was my MH's problem. I asked them about the many cutomer complaints about this issue and they again denied any knowledge of this problem, but however after a long conversation they said a district rep. would contact me!
Great I'm finally getting somewhere. That was last fall and I'm STILL waiting for that rep to call!!! So much for customer care.
Having new Michelin XZA3+ put on next week. KDK

I still have four of the original Goodyears (G590s /19.5 or something) on my '99 SeaBreeze. They only have 36k miles. They still look new, no dry rot etc and have never lost a pound of air in 5 years. I know that it's risky to ride on 12 year old tires but i only take the coach on short trips. When , eventually , I take it cross-country , I'll buy all new tires. When I first bought the coach 6 years ago it had 28k miles and the front tires were cupped. I replaced them with one new one and the original spare and had the front wheels aligned and since then the new tires are wearing perfectly and have been trouble free.
