Tried the DW method....didn't go so well. We both felt it was better for her to back it up per my instructions......We get it hooked up properly about half the time with this new method. Now that the kids have licenses, DW has been more than happy to watch. May need the camera once kids leave.

When I put my rear view camera on the trailer (Link to post)the monitor had an unused input. So I bought a cheap camera (~$30 on e-bay) to put on the back of the van so I could just switch cameras when on a trip and not towing and still see out the back. I did go with wired as I am leery of the reliability of the wireless systems that could fail when I need them the most.

It works well for that and since it is such a wide angle image I can actually see the hitch ball at the bottom of the image and have been able to hook up most times since with only one GOAL attempt needed. I cured the sun washout problem by putting a bright orange spot on top of the hitch ball. When I can't see it, I am in position to drop on the trailer.

Not where I can add a photo of the second camera right now, but I will later if needed or wanted.
