We just spent a week at Pioneer RV Resort, Port Aransas TX, and had a nice relaxing time. This was sort of a walk down Memory Lane as the last time we were there was 9 years ago. The place was just about exactly as I remembered it. Which is good, because it means they spend lots of time and effort on maintenance.

We were in the premium pull-thru section, which got pretty empty mid-week (only 14 camping units scattered through this 80-space section), but filled in quite a bit into the weekend. The cable TV had a little bit of static, but the wifi was reliable and fast enough.

The boardwalk to the beach is in good shape and much appreciated. We started going to Pioneer back in 2000 before the boardwalk was built, slogging up and down the dunes to the beach was not so much fun.

I have to agree that Pioneer is top rate. I have visited friends staying there.

Howdy!

I agree. We we're there recently for a week during Sand Fest. Pioneer RV resort is the best Port A has to offer.

Drove through a few months ago, Mustantag Island or Goose Island state parks are way better - we stayed at both

Have to agree that Pioneer is a great place. We stayed a week last fall. No crowds anywhere.
