Have you opened the back 5-10 pages of a Trailer Life Mag? There are hundreds of TT/5th in there from all over the country. Same on the MH side with Motorhome Mag? The General Lot just of I295 in Jacksonville has what looks like 200 RVs on the lot. Hope you sell soon but I think it is a buyers market out there.

I looked for six months before I finally bought, new. The used rigs were simply too high and didn't have the value when compared to new deals. Add that with easy financing, full warranty and it makes selling used really tough. The long term financing also hurts resale because the loan balance is still high after the unit is several years old. I got the easy 10 year loan but am doubling up and amortizing it over 5 years. That way if something unexpected causes a sale, I shouldn't be upside down.
Good luck, hope you sell it soon.

Sold our 2001 5th wheel little over 2 years ago. Sold the first week.
Nicely maintained, everything in good working order, spotless inside and out. Second person that came by bought it.
No problem.

If you have the time and patience to deal with all the lookers it's the best way to go(selling yourself). See what the dealer will give you, then look on NADA, price it to sell if you need to move it fast, price it a little higher if your in no hurry. I agree with others... if you can get it to a good intersection one weekened you may snag a few people that will jump on it just because they saw it. Good luck!

True, I think TT's probably are selling better right now. But I think there is still a market for 5th wheels. I have sold two trailers on Ebay. This is another option for you, but don't do a regular auction if you are advertising elsewhere or else if you get a good offer elsewhere you can't sell it until your auction is up on ebay. They have other options you can choose though. And perhaps you have done this already, but look up trailers on the sites you are advertising on to see what others are selling for. If you are over that, you will not get any bites. Try to stay slightly under what everyone else's units are going for in the same or similar model.
As has already been pointed out, dealers can offer financing so your average buyer goes with them. Myself included. I would loved to have gone with a private seller but unfortunately didn't have access to $14k all at once. There are still a lot of people though with credit lines in second mortgages that can deal.

A couple months ago we became owners of two 5th wheels. Someone thought it wouldn't hurt to just look. Anyway I advertised on a local site. Ours was paid for. I priced it at what I thought was a fair price with some room for me to move on my price. This gives some feel good room for the buyer.
When the fellow that bought it came for his first look (he came by 4 or 5 times) I said first I will show you the bad then the good and we can go from there. There was no way I wanted him coming by in a couple weeks saying this or that was wrong. Any issues I knew of he knew of.
I probably could have gotten more but I got more than my bottom price.
I think maybe location and time of year are a couple of big concerns.

If you use searchtempest.com to scan all the craigslist postings in your surrounding area you can get an idea of local prices and local competition. If you area has a lot of used trailers for sale and another area 500 miles away does not it may be worth your while to drive the trailer to that other location and see if you can sell it on consignment or pay someone a commission to show it to buyers for you.
When I was looking for a used cabover camper last year I noticed one that was at a small town that is located an 8 hour from the nearest big cities. 6 months later it was still available for sale while in the same period I saw many comparable ones sold. The ones in the large cities sold the fastest as there were a lot more potential buyers within a short drive radius.

This is another reason Ebay is a good one to use in conjunction with the others. People seem to use a wider search spread in miles on ebay as they know that there will be more limited locals selling what they want. The trailers I sold on Ebay were from people who drove pretty far to get to me. With Craigslist, I noticed I only got local bites as there are more people with items using craigslist that kind of saturates the advertising pool.

Not only is the price lower, there are more options to tow a TT then a 5er. Most people do not have a 3/4 or 1 ton to pull with. I'm sure dealer financing is a big help as well.

Took a couple months, but it sold.. We also had records of our maintenance..
Went to the buyers local branch bank to do the transfer and got a cashiers check from the bank..
