Well, I figured that staying in motels would not last long with my husband and our dog. So we found a newer smaller travel trailer that was priced right, is in excellent condition and only 2 years old, and yesterday we got it. It has everything we need and is easier to tow than our previous trailers. We've planned our first camping trip for next week. We already had Andy in it when we got it home, and he jumped up on the gaucho and made himself comfortable. When I ask if he wants to go camping, he runs around in circles and barks. Yep, we're back camping again, and I'm glad!

Hooray!
Always good news when a prodigal returns...

So what did you get?

Your use of the words "gaucho upfront" made me wonder if you bought a little molded fiberglass unit like mine- so many of them have that feature!

We got a 2010 Jay Feather Sport 165 travel trailer. It's 18 feet long with a double bed and a bunk, and the gaucho where the dinette is can be made into a bed also. It's small but has lots of storage space - I can't believe how much! Perfect for 2 old campers and a dog.

We also gave up RVing for a period but soon realized the TT was a better way to go than motel's. Ours is a 18 foot Rockwood 1809S Mini Lite. Also think it is perfect for the two of as we will be 78 at our next birthday.

I also had a 165 at one time. Some things to be aware of: Look on the outside at the bottom of the exterior front & rear walls. Make sure the exposed edges of the floor are enclosed in a water tight material. Mine weren't. When snow that was drifted up against the front wall melted, the edge of the floor wicked up all that water & ruined the floor. Also check to make sure your tub drains to the gray tank. Mine was plumbed to the black tank which sits directly below it. The black tank is only 11 gals, so imagine to my surprise when the black tank backed up into the shower while I was using it. Had the dealer replumb it to a second additional gray tank that was then tied into the main gray tank. I also replaced the round dining table with one of those small, rectangular, collapsable poly.... tables. Then used that inside & out. Enjoy your new camper.
