We have been staying at the Monroe Creek Campground in Weiser, Idaho for the last three years during the National Fiddlers Contest. The owners informed us that they do not offer this discount during Fiddlers week in June. I was informed by your staff at the Redmond Rally last year that the discount is to be offered all year and they will look into the issue. Apperently this has not been done. The discount is not being offered again this year. We will not be staying at Monroe Creek Campground..

I thought Good Sam was consistent in their 10% discount as long as the park is a Good Sam Park. They say to notify Good Sam if you encounter otherwise.

I thought that Good Sam would reimburse you if you did not get the discount. Have you contacted Good Sam?

A few years ago we stayed at a Good Sam CG near Gettysburg, Artillery Ridge Camping Resort. They claimed that part of the camping fee did not qualify for the GS discount, so we only got the 10% off on part of the fee. I never did anything about it but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

We almost always stay for a week when staying at Good Sam Campgrounds, we've always been told by the campground, there is no discount on the weekly rate. So I can say I've never got a Good Sam Discount on Camping.

If I remember right,the discount was for 1 or 2 nights stay and they did block out major events.

GS member Parks are required to honor the 10% discount on presentation of a valid membership card in the name of the registrant at the time of registration.
No exception is allowed for special events, no 'black out dates' .
GS discount applies to posted daily rates up to the point in which the camp offers longer term rates that are discounted greater than 10% , i.e. ,weekly.,monthly.
No compilation or 'doubling up' of discounts, or of use of a member card in the name of other than the legal registrant .
Should you encounter a park not honoring this policy, I encourage you to contact GS membership services for arbitration.
Edit-- trust between guest ,operator & GS is key to all.

Where the park made it's mistake was not just pricing the special event timeframe at a rate high enough that they would feel comfortable with the 10% discount being applied. Such pricing structure is almost universal throughout the lodging industry, and is becoming much more widespread in the RV Park industry.
