Any of you Townsend regulars familiar with the various riverfront sites at the KOA? I have a couple questions. Thanks!

RV PARKS and CAMPGROUNDs

Check out these sites listed for Townsend. We like to stay at the RV PARK just before the entrance to th Smoky Mtn Natl Park. Has creek side camping and lots of shade.

We probably stay there once a year. One of my favorites in the Southeast.

Its 30 minutes from home and a regular quick weekend getaway spot for us. Ask away. Somebody else mentioned Tremont Campground. Thats our 2nd choice in Townsend.

Though not on the river, here is site 36 from a few weeks ago.

Site 52 the following weekend.

Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering how big our site was (#115). From satellite images, it looks a bit cramped in the corner. I'm sure it will be fine. This will be our first stay at the KOA...we've stayed at Big Meadow twice (nice place), but just wanted to try something different (and a little more woodsy).

Did you mean 15 instead of 115? Best I can tell from the map 115 is a cabin.

If it is 15, it would be where the 5er is parked in the right side of my first picture.

When is your stay booked? I wouldn't mind snapping a pic for you if I'm back there before your stay.

Yes, it is site 15...sorry about that. We will be there the first week in June.
