As far as I understand it (please tell me if I am wrong) my new GOOD SAM ROADSIDE service will cover all my vehicles, towing or not. If this is true I can cancel my AAA? I purchased the "regular" one , not just RV and not platinum. $79.95 for a year. Thanks for any help!
We have had Progressive and AAA, and recently went back to Good Sams as the best choice for us. They treated us very well in the past, and were always very "RVer Friendly" people.
Plus, the real bonus is that if you need the little extra reason to switch...the Chairman and CEO of Good Sams and Camping World (Markus Lemonis) hangs out here on the Forum and addresses issues almost instantly!

Go to the Good Sam website and look up ERS. There are three different coverages now with added benefits with the price. We have Platinum which covers any vehicle I or the DW drives including rentals and lease plus a lot more.
My first and only experience with GS came 9 days after I enrolled with GS and cancelled AAA. I was broke down in an area with no cell service. I hiked 2 miles to where I got cell service and called GS. I was told the tow truck would be at the location of my vehicle in 30 minutes so I walked back. 2 hours later I hiked back 2 miles to cell service and had a message waiting from the tow company saying they would not respond since I had GS service. He stated GS is too slow pay and I would have to pay for the call and bill GS. If I had AAA, he would honor their card. Since I had cancelled AAA, I had to pay in advance and bill GS. Total walk, 8 miles. Tow to my house 7 miles. Tow bill $95.00. Lesson learned, priceless. I carry both cards.
Ask me how I feel about GS. Not happy with their contract station in my area. They are still the contract station, even after that kind of service.

I as a camp host in Oregon I have seen this type of (insert favorite cuss word) stuff with a provider in the Portland / Vancouver area. I and the RV owner both talked to the tow guy and GS. Bottom line he did not want to get off his butt to come and tow the RV. The RV was down over 24 hours and we (the camp) made accomidations for the RV. All that said Good Sam at all times was up on this and was in contact and when I last talked to them, GS, I stated that we would be able to let him stay the night the next day GS sent a mobil repair and fixed the RV that pm.
Bottom line here to me is that even with good service some tow operators are not responsive and could care less. Seems that there should be a way to punish that careless response.
