I was thinking of Redesigning My canvas to Full velcro support...

and take down and put up as needed...Possibly More velcro for the top..

Velcro'd on the upper inside, and Coming down Just over the lip on the outside...

It would take care of the canvas more, by not getting all compressed and sqeezed into a tight area...

It will also have less wear and tear from Take down and Put up, due to the pressure the edges/corners have when putting up/taking down...

Though i just thought about maybe it not reaching, due to me needing slightly more to work with...

Though i may not need to Put it up as high either...

Any thoughts would be great

Are you talking about a popup trailer?

i dont see why you couldnt...as long as the convas doesnt fall down from the top and it all sealed...

Infact you can even velco it To the outside lip on the bottom part, Avoiding water even touching the Buttom lip...

And you would have less wear and tear on the canvas, because you can fold it nicely without it being compressed down and Being pulled up and down from use...

I thought this was a good idea...Maybe not?

Properly cared for, the tenting on a popup can last quite a while. Your idea sounds rather cumbersome - it will take more time and not give you that much. Also, when you do need to replace your canvas, there are places who are set up to do it, but what you are planning? you are on your own.

Tell us how it comes out, and be sure to include pictures.
Good luck!

To the OP...It sounds like more trouble than it would be worth. 'lfloom' makes a good point about the time commitment of repeated sticking/unsticking the canvas. Personally, I don't like 'sticky' situations. I'd rather crank up my PUP, pull the beds, hang the door, and be done with it - more time to enjoy camping.

But...To each his own...

naw, it wouldnt take that much time at all, especially with two people...

It takes me 8min flat to setup my 83 starcraft starflyer...Cranking, unpacking, all....

I think it would be beneficial Due to taking it down and Folding it...

Plus when you have it hardwired, There's more force in a smaller area on the top part...If you had two Strips of Velcro , Full length (2in all the way across) it would Be holding it by more area, Thus putting less force on the Canvas....

I know i sound stubburn as if i didnt take in any of the comments, But i very much apreciate every help i get on here...

Lots of knowledgable People on here....

i am just trying to get feedback to weigh the pros/cons...

But yea your right, it would take longer to Take down/put away...But i think the Pros outweigh the cons..

Also, if you velcro it, You can crank it all up, so its being cranked with less weight.

I also will be putting my Custom Support brackets after cranking it, Then after that Put up the canvas..

And if you ever want to Clean it in the future, or patch it, All you have to do is take it down and then its seperated...

I mean seriously how much time do u think it would take to Throw up the canvas and attach it to velcro?

Thanks again for the feedback
