Hey guys!

I had some wind damage several weeks ago to my MADP -- the girard patio awning was bent over and destroyed and a bay door was damaged.

I also have a couple of other minor things such as a scrape under the front nose that most beyond my OCD self wouldn't notice - I wanted to get those taken care of as well.

I have a quote from Newmar, but they have not personally seen it beyond pictures. Because of this, the insurance company won't commit to the repair. Newmar won't commit to ordering the parts (whole new awning and bay door to the tune of $5k) without signing the quote agreeing to self-pay independent of the insurance company, which I'm obviously uncomfortable with.

I contacted Precision Paint, who seemed very nice to work with. I sent Paul the information and pictures, but have not been able to get a hold of him since. They seem really busy, which is understandable.

To make things easy, I'd like to find someone in Michigan I can take it to. General RV in Wixom is only 20 minutes from me, but I've not been able to find any reviews of their body shop.

Any suggestions for a reputable body shop in MI that can both meet my OCD standards and work with the insurance company?

Thanks!!

General RV used to use Superior Cadillac's bodyshop in Brighton. They have done work for both me and my Mom. I can recommend them based on that. They are at 3533 S Old US 23 a bit North of 96.

(I heard General now does their own work, can't comment on that.)

The Belleville Camping World store has an outstanding body shop. I personnel know the shop manager and seen their work. Kip's RV in Temperance, Michian does great repairs. He'd done several jobs for me.

Gary owns PGA out in Chesterfield Twp for the past 25 years or more. He started out doing boats, built a spray booth for larger boats, I think it is 55 ft long and started doing Motorhomes about 15 years ago. Excellent workmanship and great to deal with. Might want to at least check them out. PGA

I recently had a fairly major repair done by Waterford Collision,
2579 Dixie Highway in Waterford (248-673-4910). They were recommended by General Trailer in Waterford. They worked well with my insurance Co. (AAA). I'm very happy with the work they did.
