Exspansion tank cracked lost coolant
Black smoke from exhaust engine died as we pulled in
Whit smoke fom coolant leak
Good news oil looks ok
No apparent leaks no coolant pooring from anywhere
Engine still cooling and steaming wont restart
Lucky we are not blocking the road
I have AAA and progessive but dont know where to be towed or where to go i csn repair the plastic tank
Best to get a new one installed
And maybe replace hoses

That sounds pretty serious. Engine shut down? Maybe it is a safety feature so you don't fry the engine. I really hope so.

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Freightliner and camping World located in Flagstaff to your east. If you have ERS like Coach Net call them and they will have list of repair facilities. We carry a complete set of radiator hoses at all times.

GOOD LUCK

Exit 145 is located in Ashfork, AZ.

Here's a list of some Diesel Repair facilities in that town.

Good luck

Hi Mr. Wizard,

Sorry to hear of the problems. I too, would replace all hoses after a failure. It is cheap insurance.

Consider a metal replacement tank if available. Hopefully the engine is OK.

I'd be tempted to patch the tank, fill with water just to determine the engine status. I'm not suggesting highway driving.
