You didn't say what your tow vehicle is. Price aside,,, yeah right. The Jayco is the larger, heavier unit. Do the kids need a Queen bed? IF the floorplan is enough better and the PUP is in really good condition, you could try for a better price on it. And of course IF you don't mind the extra weight on the Tow Vehicle. ????

The newer, smaller Fleetwood, is the smaller box and thus pull more comfortably, and still has three beds available. A better 'Deal' I'd think.

Clicky

I just came from the Houston CL, not much being offered at the moment.

I would def look at the new line of somerset camping trailers. ALINER bought most of the equipment and hired most people from the old coleman fleetwood plant and r now manufacturing the trilers. Most if not all jayco viking rockwood owners i ever meant went gaga over my 2 fleetwood/coleman trilers ive owned. I now have the coleman Niagara and love it and have had no issues with either trailer and i use it a good 40 nights a year at least towing up to 5000 miles a year! Good luck in your searching any questions fill free to ask any.

We are really liking the Jay feather ultra light x213, but not making the jump just yet before checking out other brands. I think we narrowed out the PUP and looking at the htt's

I will admit to thinking I Needed a folder since I first saw an Aliner some years ago. Never had or used one yet. Part of the attraction I guess is the 'hard' sides, since we have bears out here, although I never had a problem with them in the PUP.

Good news is you have a decent Tow Vehicle, and have flexibility to go to the extra load.

My Jayco 10X is a 2003 which I bought new at the end of season in January 2004.
While I only "pulled" it for two years & since parked it at my favorite camp site I have spent over 700 nights in it. Still basickly sound only showing normal wear & tear This year I replaced the stove, the pull out table I use outside & thats about it. I highly recommend Jayco Pups.

PS The bear argument is a bit faulty as I have seen personally doors of heavy duty SUV's ripped of by hungry bears. No Aliner will keep them out.

I guess I was a bit too, 'tongue in cheek?', the bear comment wasn't meant to be serious.

The ONLY bear problem I've experienced was at the RV park where my
'doghouse' is. They destroyed the dumpsters several times. No respect for Waste Management, ya know. Of course they did tear up a 'tin shed', that had a freezer and a can of dogfood in it.

Life's too short to be serious.

But on a more serious note; The Aliner can be used in the National Parks, while the PUPs are banned from ore or two IIRC. At least back when I had mine Yellowstone said. No Way Hoser! So we went up stream, out of the park and camped at a private CG. We spent something over a week in Montana streamside with no problems.

Of course unlike Colorado where they move them from the Front range up to my Dobhouse, in Montana I think the move is from the dumpsters to the Living Room/Family Room, Floor.

There is only one CG in yellowstone that does not allow popups - Fishing Bridge.

I have camped in mine throughout the northwest. We stayed in Glacier, Mt. Rainier, the north cascades, Banff and Yellowstone. Fishing Bridge was out but that is the ONLY place we were not allowed to camp.

The bear argument is bogus. People backpack into the parks and sleep in small tents. As long as you use your head and obey the posted rules you have nothing to fear.
