Someone decided to delete my question to "MIDNIGHTSADIE" who said that 'barker is top of the line , don,t have any info on the other brands.' All I did was ask to provide the supporting information to back up his claim.

Just looking to get supporting information on "MIDNIGHTSADIE" claim.

I have no clue if Barker is the best of the best. What I do know is this. From all my reading, the Barker almost always got good to great reviews. Not so much the other brands.

Also, I do know that Barker's are made here in the USA. I decided for once to play a little more for a USA made product rather than a Chinese made product.

Also, from what I could tell, almost all other tongue jacks are made in China.

The Atwood jacks are all made in China, except for the very latest addition to their line up. Their latest addition is made here.

Thank you, at least someone gives some good information on the Barker.
I have had an Atwood 3500 for quite some time (4 or 5 Years) and it has worked every time without any type of failure. Where it is manufactured is irrelevant even if it was made in China, just look at the auto maker. My opinion.

Many thoughts.....I am a Buy American kind of guy - with two caveats; first the quality must be there, second I don't see paying more than 110% of the non-american product.

I just ordered a Barker 3000# from a place other than CW...I would have bought from CW but for 2 things, they don't carry the Barker and thier price on an Odyssey 3000# was only $8 less than the other guys Barker....including his shipping. I truly wish CW would get more competitive on pricing...I like to buy from them...just picked up a Coleman Roadtrip grill there on Friday....

I need some info/sdvice on the install so will start another thread...for those of you who have experience at install please look for it

I got a Barker 3500 off amazon. Got it 4 days later and hooked up in 20 minutes. Very happy and I can not believe went 5 years without a power jack.

Larry to install you just remove three bolts, remove old jack. Slide new jack into place. Bolt it and also grounding via a groundbolt (just scrape paint) and add a crimp connection to the power wire and attach to positive. That is it.

I have the Odyssey 3000 which is made by Ultra Fab (I think). I am very happy with it and it gets very good reviews at Camping World.com.

My Atwood was even easier. Didn't have to deal with a ground wire. Just bolting it in took care of that. They already had a ring terminal on the power wire (which already had an inline fuse). It was exactly long enough to reach the 50 amp breaker that the wire from the battery connected into under the front of the trailer. Spun a nut off with the DeWalt, put the ring on the stud, spun the nut back on with the DeWalt. Done. I have spent the better part of 4 weeks doing mods on this brand new TT . . . and that was the easiest one (even easier than converting a bunch of lights to LED with the boards from Command Electronics).
