I planned my first post to be different, new owner, pictures, etc. but I found a problem that needs addressing.
We brought our 2003 Discovery 39S home from PPL. Everything worked in the walk-through (maybe I will delve into old TV systems later). Yesterday during a simulated camp setup at home, the bedroom slide would not extend. Unit was running, levelers down and level, both living room slides were out. Breaker and fuse panel were OK. Before climbing under today, I thought to ask for any suggestions from the wealth of experience I have been observing here.
Thanks, Fred

You said: "Unit was running, levelers down and level, both living room slides were out." Were you extending the slides while the engine was on? If so it's amazing that any of them worked since they usually are wired so they won't work unless the ignition is off.

On my 2002 there are 2 power boards under bed, behind AC panel. Fuse blew. can also try swapping connectors should show if fuse or board is blown. Also make sure the spring loaded door beside sliding mirrors closet doors hasn't sprung open. This happened to me and would not let slide go out.
P.S. I usually run slides with Generator running, this gives a tad more voltage to the motor.

Thanks docj and chewbear. My manual says ignition on for slide operation. I will try it with the genny in a minute, after I check all the closet doors. I don't recall a spring loaded door there, but that's probably a me problem.

My slides work with engine running. Thats the way I always extend slides. The emergency brake has to be on before extending slides, same with jacks.

I have to have the key out of ignition before my slides will go out.
This may not be the case for you but it might be.

Well, nothing new. Not a sound from the switch or the slide motor. Tilted the bed up and looked at the slide motor. All wires appear ok and connected. No working room tolerances for trying the "manual slide operation". Barely enough room to hit it with a hammer to vent!
Sign on the switch also states motor must be running.
Thanks everyone

Are all the slides the same technology? I've heard of some coaches that had both hyraulic and electric slides.
My Holiday Rambler is of the variety that requires the motor to be OFF for the slides to move at all. Both of my slides are electric and I wonder if motor on for hydraulic and motor off for electric is the way of the world???

Even if electric... can also be either rack and pinion or cable. Our bedroom slide is cable and can become stretched over time and usage. Usually requires an small adjustment to keep them taught.

Good points. I would love it if I could teach them to be taut (sorry Ron), but they are all Power Gear electric with a drive shaft and rollers. Still looking around.
