Friends I need some suggestions for some thing I have to tackle. I wanted to change out my trailer jack to a new one as the old one is all banged up and rusty. I got the new one and its nice and all but when I went to install it the hole on the bottom at the v of the trailer is smaller than the top one. So my question to you experts is what do you think would be the best way to enlarge the hole. I do not have many fancy tools but I do have a grinder which is what I was thinking to use, any thoughts???

That is what I did. Of course the hole was just "slightly" smaller so a little grinding took care of it rather quickly.

I have used rat tailed files and of course the grinding wheel on a drill is much faster. just keep checking to see if the jack will go through, no need to take to much off the hole. if you take too much off the jack will move and you will have too much movement in the TT when camping. the jack will wobble in the large hole.

Thanks that is what I thought but sometimes someone else's opinion helps confirm what we know, thanks again.

I used a rat tail bastard file. Took just a few minutes.
