Hi all..I have posted several times about different trailers trying to narrow down our choices for our 1st TT. WE are a family of 4 and really like the Jayco x213 and the Outback 250rs, looking at 2007 and newer. Similar floor plans but we like the additional side slide on the outback but not a must. Any advice on pros and cons from who ever has experience with these trailers would be great. Looking for something that we can enjoy for years to come and hopefully meet up with the great people on this forum for a cold beverage..my treat..

Family of 4 = slide out. Check to see if there's a difference in sub-floor material and roof sheathing. If it's OSB or plywood, that's good. If it's luan watch out because it only takes a small amount of water for it to expand.

Even with only the two of us, the Outback with the two slides is hands above the Jayco 22FB we started with. Regardless of layout, a trailer with no slide is 8' wide, there are going to be places that are a squeeze to get by. We enjoy having the openness and the ability to roam without running into each other. That's something to consider if you think you may keep the trailer for a while.

I have a rear slide with Quad bunks up front, Surveyor 255RS, for my family of four. The only thing I would change would be the addition of a slide like the Outback has.

With a family of four you will want the longer of the two with a slideout if all other factors are equal.

Thanks for the info..I forgot to ask if the front bunks are long enough for a adult to sleep in. I'm really leaning toward the outback because of the slide. I have a Armada with a 9100 tow rating and a 910 hitch weight, I would think that keeps within the ratings on that trailer but i cant seem to find the weights on the outback. Thanks again for the help.

Just gut impressions but we have not been real impressed with the look of Outbacks interior (I mean "quality") while we have nearly always been more impressed with Jayco products. Also we have owned and thoroughly used a 1999 Jayco 5th wheel for over 8 years. Not that we haven't spent plenty on various repairs but the cabinets, etc. still look good.

I would also consider the rear queen bed slide mechanics. The Jaycos is cable driven with no support underneath it. The Outbacks has 2 large supports beneath the rear slide to hold it in place.
