Posting this for info for my father-in-Law.

Wondering if anyone who owns an Open Range Fiver has had any issues with it. He has had his 17 months and it has spent a total of 7 months in for repair after repair.

First trip out hot water heater would not light or work on electricity. They replaced both thermostats, no problems since. We have camped a total of 56 days since that first trip.

I guess the other readers were not Open Range owners.

I am starting on my third year with a 345RLS, and other than the industry standard Crappy tank monitoring system, and the non-fitting front door that was replaced without a whimper, no major problems.

I wonder what kind of problems take that much time to resolve?
Perhaps there may be problem with the dealer?, lack of owner orientation? It should still be under warrenty, so dollars shouldnt be a motive for the dealer, more info would sure be nice to have.

Have you looked at the "OpenRangeowners" web site?, they may be able give you more insight with direct experiences and or tales of woe.

We have a 2012 Open Range 345RLS and have spent almost 6 months on the road in it and have had no problems other than a couple of things that weren't Open Range issues -- water heater thermostat (which Open Range arranged shipment of part over night) and the toilet pedal had a small leak and again it was handled quickly and easily with a part from Thetford.

We love our Open Range! Check out the Open Range Owners Forum, now about 1000 members who are for the most part very happy.

Call (260)-768-7771 and ask for Randy Graber....he's the CEO and sometimes answers the phone. Great guy and has been very open and helpful to Open Range Owners. Maybe he can kick start the RV Dealer!

We own a 2011 Open Range 345RLS and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! It is a great 5th wheel and we are seeing more and more of them in campgrounds on on the road...We have had only minor problems that were corrected without any problem. As with any 5th wheel or any type of RV, you will have some problems. I highly recommend the Open Range. It's a great looking rig!!!!

I will have him get on here and post all the issue he has had and with the repair issues. It was bought from MCClains in the Dallas Area. Here are a few things I know of.

the roof had to be replaced,
the entire RV rewired for the road lighting, tailights...
Window seals coming apart
Slide seals ripping
