Where do you folks who take a paper towel and open the door on the way out of the restroom deposit those paper things, on the floor of the restroom or do you find some other place to drop them on the floor? I have found many restrooms with paper towels dropped near the door and wondered what drove people to do that, now I believe I have found out why. And, what do you do after you have pushed the cart around the store, go into the restroom and wash your hands again and drop another towel on the floor on the way out? These are just idle questions and aren't meant to throw stones at anyone of you who are posting, but it seems to me we take this question of cleanliness just a bit too far sometimes and forget common sense.

Lately, I avoid the antibacterial soap in favor of regular soap. About the only exception I make is after handling raw meat. I would include raw vegtables -- but I don't eat that "healthy". My family does though. So why am I in the best physical condition and get sick the least?

Genetics has something to do with health, not just lifestyle. OTOH, you may pay dearly down the road for your poor diet with obesity, heart disease and all the other serious diseases that go with poor eating habits.

I'm 48, 153 pounds, and walk over 4.5 miles a day about 340 days a year. This post has me laughing more than all the others combined.

We used to have a bunch of paper towel droppers here on my floor at work. One by one they asked me why I hit the handicapped button with my hip. Now the bathroom does not look like a garbage dump anymore.

For some folks this "They must wear gloves!" is an obsession that I simply do not understand. I often wonder if they ever changed a diaper on their child or grandchild bare handed or did they break out the surgical gloves?

THANK YOU!!! I maintain that no part of dumping the tanks on my RV could be messier than a toddler who's had a stupendous "Blowout". In either case - I simply wash my hands afterward.

And how does one get a weakened immune system? Most of the time it is related to some disease. But I wouldn't be surprised if sometimes it is because they are such a germophobe, they have not exposed themselves to enough of a normal level of germs to build and maintain a healthy immune system.

Not necessarily. Some people are born with the propensity to catch everything. Others have suppressed immune systems because they're on chemo cancer treatment, or they have HIV, are very old, or on a very poor diet or have excessive stress in their lives. I'm surprised no Dr's have come forward in this tread with helpful and accurate information concerning fecal contamination/disease and parasite transmission.

Didn't I cover the chemo patients and HIV when I said "related to some disease"? And there are plenty of old people who have perfectly fine immune systems. Those that don't are commonly afflicted with a disease of some kind. But I will appologize for using the term "most" (where is Mowermech to call me out on that one?) without the data to back it up. A more proper term would be "often". BTW: one of the side effects of a lot of medication on the market is a suppressed immune system. Well taking of said medication is "related" to an ailment, sometimes a disease. Perhaps I should also use the term "ailment" instead of "disease".

Of all of my relatives who have died, the one who lived the longest was my grandfather. He was a fat old man the entire time I knew him. Died at age 86 of congestive heart failure. The first medication he ever took was after his heart attack at age 80. Up until then, I think he had been sick twice in his life. But then again . . . he never owned an RV.

I figure if businesses don't want paper on the floor near the exit door of the toilet, they can either change the swing of the door or provide a nearby trash receptacle. Seems to me like the trash receptacle would be the simpler option.

But getting back to dump stations - anyone ever wash the car at one? I've washed my motorcycle at dump stations before.
