Good news for Ford, they "pawned" their logo and other assets in 2006 to save their business, and they got them back now due to their great economc performance. Great news for North American jobs.

I think they pawned everything in '06 to get that line of credit. Gutsy move but maybe it was either "bet the farm" or just fade away. Didn't they bring in an ex Boeing executive to pound the old entrenched order into submission and turn the company around? The old order GM executives were absolutely so blind to reality that they would have taken the company under without some interaction from outside during the dire conditions after 2008. What kind of junk would those idiots be building if Japan, Korea, and Germany were not keeping the pressure on. Maybe the RV industry needs some outside competition - - - Competition. The consumers best friend.

What kind of junk would Japan, Korea, and Germany be building without the competition? Food for thought heh? Nobody in this global market spends a cent they don't have to in getting a product to market.

The CEO made out like a bandit because he refused to take the buyout --- which would have meant cutting his pay to a token sum.

Boy, now there is a dream. Competition in the rv market from Japan and Germany. Among other things, Flex-n-snap Lippert frames would be a long gone memory, stapled construction, luan and thin fiberglass panel sidewalls history. On and on. A RV built with the engineering and quality of a Camry, Accord or Civic. Ford is churning out some great products, I am so looking forward to the completely new SuperDutys.

OK, it's early and I couldn't resist. Did Ford buy back ownership of their Blue Oval from Cummings???

If that happens my opinion about RV's being "wobbly boxes on wheels" would change
(To cheap to buy new)
1990 37 ft 5th wheel that hasn't moved since 1996 (our best home)
1997 33 ft trailer (winter home in much warmer climate)
2005 25 ft M/H (our "stand up B" for traveling)

I have never owend a Ford but I believe my next new vehicle will be one. I like what they have been doing the last few years. Rented a Fusion last summer that was pretty nice. Can we get the "Gubmint" to subsidize the price of the new F150 4x4 so my out the door price would be around 20K?
