Have a 97 454 cu k2500 4 wheel drive pickup.

Is the aux cooling fan (Radiator), suppose to run when the air conditioning is on ?

Mine is not running.

If so any tips/advise to check it out.

Thanks

Here are pictures of my GMT400 7.4L Sub while in the shop after nailing a Land
Rover which jumped a stop sign

Is this the aux fan?

Yes, it is supposed to be on whenever the AC is on.

check the fuse first

Unplug it, apply battery voltage to it and see if it runs.

If yes, start working backwards to the fuse first, then suspects as needed.

I have two 454 vehicles of that era. '99 K2500 suburban and a '96 K3500 truck. Neither fan comes on just with the A/C. Computer has to sense a certain temperature/heat load for it to come on in my trucks.

Hope this helps.

Is the fuse an "inline" fuse or is it in the fuse panel inside the truck ?

Since you had a crash, wiring can be damaged and shorted.

Suspect but do not know -- it is probably a dash fuse.. check the manual.

Did I miss it? Where did the OP say he was in a crash?

My 93 K2500 would come on with AC and I think the Van 95 Chevy 1 ton with 454 would also come on with AC.
