. . .Hey. . .It appears that the ramp door assembly might be vibrating itself away from the back of my Fleetwood Gearbox 295FS 5th wheel. Anyone else seen this? What did you do to repair? Thanks. . .Happy Camping

maybe install some new latches on both sides, from a trailer shop. properly installed latches will have some pressure fit to them and be a little difficult to shut. If they are easy to open and close I'd say you have an issue. Check all bolts and nuts, rivets, or hinge assemblies on the door and tighten as necessary. If they didn't use lock washers from the factory (or locknuts, even better) it would be wise to use those to keep things from backing out due to vibration

Been there. Replace upper lag bolts with bigger ones that mount door frame to side wall. The the lag screws have a tendency to rip out of the thin wall aluminum tubing when travling on Californa's road system. Took me a year and a half to get this fixed under warranty when Fleetwood was still in business. Now you can fix it yourself in an hour and aviod the BS.

Yup pretty common - I just pulled it back into place and replaced all the screws with one size bigger and added twice the screws (one every 6" instead of every 12-18")Its been a couple years and Ive had no problems since...

I have also seen one guy who used carriage bolts from the outside through to the inside with acorn nuts on the inside.

pretty much the same thing from all of us that have these units.
about 1/2 of the screws were stripped on mine (gotta love cheap labor with air tools)
Like Jeff, I went to a larger screw and put in at least twice as many. Did it a couple of years ago and at least 5,000 miles back, no issues.
