Is there such a thing as a bike rack that mounts to the front of a travel trailer just back of the tongue(ie. above the tanks and mounted to the frame)?
There is 8 of us (6 kids) and we already have a rear mounted carrier for 4 bikes on the rear bumper (modified by the dealer with additional welded supports; we also use racket tie downs to reduce bouncing). Right now other 4 bikes are little kids bikes and can fit in trailer but in time we will need to carry outside. One concern is the damage they will do to interior despite best efforts to secure them inside.
We are cognizant of the weight concerns for rear bumper mounted carriers but for now with little kids we are OK for short hauls. Long hauls we will leave the bikes at home.
If no such a thing exists, then it will be a top of tow vehicle mounted rack I guess but that will exclude the canoe. Guess we can't take it all!
Anything can be configured. If you find something, make sure the bike/bikes are covered from the road debis kicked up from the tow vehicle. Try googling "bike racks" for your search for a design that can be modified, or maybe you'll get lucky with one that's already designed for your purpose.
