Unfortunately, most members took the courtesy notification to be an invitation to debate (argue). I've been called every name you can imagine.
Although I will still send private messages to new members explaining why I deleted or edited a post, i've given up on send them to others.

I always though the moderators were just want-to-be magicians and liked making posts diappear. If the PMs I sometimes get are any indication, you are absolutely right that there is no upside to an explanation. There are a few very seriously disturbed individuals lurking in the forum's shadows. Thanks for the imput and have a great weekend.
I suggest you post again if that happens. Include a footnote to the moderator explaining the situation. You should get a PM from the moderator if it is 'lost' again. Right, moderators?

Myself and Admin are the only ones who, generally, read this forum. I might add, that once you've "called out" a moderator with a post on the forum, you not likely to get a courtesy notification.

Really. Why? It's a free forum. The OP seems like a good guy with a reasonable question but why the concern? Why would one zapped post be important? This is a great forum. Some information is valuable, some not worth reading as probably this one. So, some posts fall through the cracks for some reason, others will replace them. Ya' win some, ya' lose some...Just consider, it's free.. IMO..
