No more hotels! After going out and doing daytime stuff, we can go back to the camper and hang out, let the kids play outside. Can't do that at a hotel room. And we have our own kitchen and bedrooms!

Yes, I separate the two. I stay in a hotel/motel when I have no other choice, which is rare. I stayed one night in one about a year ago when I visited Eureka Springs with my son's family. And another night about three or four years ago when I picked the granddaughters up in Albuquerque. Other than that vacations and TT are synonymous.
Hotels are associated with urban areas, which I try to avoid as much as possible. Even if I visit one I find a campground within a reasonable distance. I think the more you use your TT the less attractive you'll find hotels to be.

Hotels no longer exist for us unless we are not able to drive there (like England, to visit DH's family). And, we always use our "just in case" thought process...we only drive about six hours a day, just in case traffic or some point of interest comes along that we want to stop to see - it serves us well

We don't stay in a motel unless it's just absolutely unavoidable. Sometimes there's no way around it with my job though. They all feel dirty to me no matter how expensive they are.
PS
If you don't want to get freaked out then don't ever take a black light with you to a motel room or you'll start behaving like I do bringing your own pillows and sleeping in your cloths on top of the sheets with your shoes on.

We used to plan a week long trip each summer using my inlaws time share. Since we became TT owners we plan a week long trip each summer using our TT. We went to Disney and camped Fort Wilderness.

That's that place you stay when on buisness trips!
We use our TT exclusively for vacationing now; we don't want to leave our dogs behind so it was the best solution and any place you want to go to there is always a nice RV park there.
Another plus for us is we can afford to go more often because it is cheaper than hotels to use our TT.

Awww, fun! How did you like that? Did you find it just as convenient vs. staying at a resort/hotel? How were the amenities at FW?

Yes, our trailer vacations we spend longer in one place, our tent vacations we move around a lot spending more time in dry areas.
For years our main vacations have been in the fall and spring for about six weeks. Now we go more often with the TT in the summer spending about 4-8 days each time. Not that we have dropped the spring and fall trips. Until this year my husband has driven in to work on Sundays.

When we first got it, we intended to use our TT as a mobile motel room. It totally changed our style of travel, and we now seek out remote locations. And we stay away from home for much longer periods of time. A week used to be the norm. Now a month is no problem. No unpacking, no greasy diner food, clean sheets.

Before the TT we camped in a Class B which I built. It had all the ameneties we needed except sewer, and air conditioning, but we traveled only during cool seasons. Now it's not that different, just more convenient and more fun.
