We just got back from our very first RV trip and what an experiance it was to say the least! Didn't have everything we needed, got lost, had a flat on the fifth wheel, couldn't find the key to the camper, didn't have the correct adaptor for power, dinner was burnt and nothing to drink, Other than that we had a great time.

Time to re group and think about this RV'ing stuff!!!

Sounds like a perfectly normal trip to me....
Seriously, stick with it...it's all part of the adventure.

(remember your FIRST attempt at most anything?...probably didn't go just so.)

I'd say you probably learned more about RV'ing than you ever could from reading any forum. Now you know. Bet you a dollar your next trip will be several times better.

What, no plague of locusts?

Sounds like just about every first-trip-of-the-season I ever took!

Welcome to the Club- you're going to love it once you get the kinks worked out...

Sorry to hear your first outing was so bad. But you must realize that this many problems all at once is unusual. Some your fault, some not.

Don't let this throw you, although I know it's hard not to. Learn from your mistakes and move forward. Many of us went through this when starting out.

It may not seem it right now, but once you get things ironed out it's well worth the enjoyment you'll get out of your RV.

You didn't read the posts about good reasons to camp in the driveway the first night.

No-Body before you has ever had those problems... RIGHT!

Don't give up.
It gets better with time and experience.
Start making notes on things to bring on the next trip.
Hang in there!!

Camp driveway would probably not teach you about losing a key. If you have a dog, and you take it camping. Get an extra key made and put one on the dog's collar. You could try to hide a few more but at least if you lock yourself out while you're walking the dog-you can get in!

I like that idea. I will use that one next week.

This type of stuff happens all the time to all of us. When you go on your next trip take a walk around the campground and when you see another camper walk up and a conversation and ask what kind of issues they have had while RVing. You will be surprised the answers you will get. Example I met a fellow a couple years back with a fifth wheel who told me he had just popped out his back window on his pickup when he turned too tight or the couple who was visiting the Air Force Museum in Dayton and pulled their travel trailer in a drainage ditch and couldn't get it out. 2000 dollars later it was out and they were on their way. I had flat tires, broken parts on the trailer, etc. It is all part of the game and I for one never think these things wouldn't happen to me as it surely will if I do. Just learn and try not to do the same thing again.
