Evidently Ford plans on selling these cars as some kind of a "program" car, so be aware, they are going to be out there...........
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A vicious hail storm last month pounded thousands of Ford's popular new Escape SUVs as they awaited shipment to U.S. car dealerships. But the damage won't slow the roll-out of the new, highly anticipated model, the company said Sunday.
The storm struck Louisville, Ky., April 28 and damaged about 3,500 Escapes, according to a report in the Louisville Courier-Journal. The cars are assembled at a nearby plant.
The SUVs at the site had been undergoing final quality checks when the storm hit, Nissen said. Damaged units won't be sold to the public as new cars, he said.

"be aware"? Be aware of what? I don't see any signs of a cover up. Hail damage is very visible and is nothing like a flooded car. Good opportunity for people to save many thousands of dollars if you don't mind a few dents. I bought a factory damaged car 11 years ago. Dealer was up front and had all the repair documents from the factory and I saved nearly $9000 bucks on a brand new used car.

Years ago I had a neighbor who had bought a new car with hail damage it was a brand new car the only thing wrong with was the dents all over it from the hail dealer cut him a very good deal on the car and he drove it for years. His was black and only when you got up close could you see the dents kinda looked like a golf ball but it didnt bother him from driving the car and the deal he got from the dealer.....

The title has to be "branded" and that puts your insurance company on notice and kills the resale value in many areas.....just be aware of the pitfalls when you buy such a car.

If Ford is smart enough, they will fix up the vehicles and discount them.

And how would the title be branded? Not a salvage title. So what are you saying?

There are many types of "branded" titles, not just a salvage title, depending on the state it is sold in. Of course there is one state that they can be washed in and be sold as new.

Could you give an example of what a hail damage and repaired brand would consist of in any state?

So what are those" branded" titles if not salvage and WHICH STATE can you wash a car and sell as new????
Sounds like chicken little to me,sounding an alarm when there is no danger or rampent paranoia. Quote: There are many types of "branded" titles, not just a salvage title, depending on the state it is sold in. Of course there is one state that they can be washed in and be sold as new.
