Observations & Notes: We just returned from an 18 day trip to Heritage Motorcoach Resort & Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama. Sites range $175,000 to $650,000, depending how close you are to water. Optional boat slip costs $50,000. Every site comes with a coach house shell, $60,000 to finish. HOA fee $283/month. 79 sites total. 15 sites left. Live music, catered dinner, and open bar every weekend. Patio lights, flags, site decor, and Super C coaches are not permitted.

Well, did you buy or just visit?

We're not into the "community living thing", so my preference would be to buy my own acreage and build my own "coach house" on my own land and not have the hoa restrictions and fees. And for what Heritage Motorcoach Resort & Marina is asking, I could build quite a home. Now if I had brought that nice big piece of land at YeeHaw Junction Fl., back when I had the chance.

Lovely...except: it means traveling to the same destination regularly, like have a second "vacation home." Not what I personally want out of RVing.
But to each their own...and it is indeed lovely.

The reason we bought an rv and not a condo is so that we don't have to go to the same place all the time. Same reasoning applies to rv ownership lots. For just the HOA annual fees alone, $3,396 I can rent a lot of very nice spaces in fancy rv resorts. The downturn in real estate has affected some of these resorts and some have filed for bankruptcy. We stay in some of these nice resorts, and lots of units for sale, with some owned by the bank.

Thanks so much for the great pictures. Now I know what is behind those gates. Unfortunately, we are a wee bit under funded for a place like that. I may be able to save up to get a site if I am able to work for another 130 years.

BTW, just an observation. That puddle in the driveway in the 3rd photo is a bit unsightly. For that price, I would expect someone out there to dry that up...

Full timing it since July 2012 My pics

Not my can of beer but it looks to be a great place to enjoy a few hard earned dollars. What are the "coach houses" primarily used for? Laundry, bathroom, storage?
