One of the best options for the PC is RVParkReviews.com. If you put in the name of the town, it will give you a pretty good list of all the CGs in the area, as well as the distances from that town. Lots of great information too!
The reviews are by other RVers, so you will get a pretty good review, though you have to read them and figure out why they liked or disliked them, and if that reasoning works for you. Some folks don't want dogs at their CG, so may complain about dogs....but, YOU may have dogs, and that wouldn't bother you.
I'm sure that there are other sites out there, but I always go here first.
Have fun

www.uscampgrounds.info will show you all the federal, state, & local campgrounds. Just put in a city and state, then zoom in/out as you want. There are links to click for each campground for further info. It's a very useful site.

I use the Passport America app - if you are a member - participating cg's listed by state - either by town or map. another app ($) is Allstays - lists all types of cg's in the area.

I'm working on a campground database website where users can enter reviews and more importantly photos of the campgrounds. This is one thing that rvparkreviews doesn't have. Here s a link to the map search page http://www.campgroundgallery.com/CampGround/MapSearch.aspx Select a state and then you can zoom in to see the campground in the area you are looking at.
Your suggestion is a good one I will look at adding in the future. I also want to make an android app and maybe an iphone one if my wife will let me use her phone.
maskins-- my thing is if we have a few days off and want to go camping and lets say a tank full away.. what camp grounds are out there and what kidna POI also.. (maybe a milage limit).. I looked up some rv site only to find out they were like living rv sites not for visiting rv's.. I will check out your site.. tks...
I use google maps, either on the computer or on my phone. Just type in "Camping Nashville TN" and it shows you all the campgrounds it knows about around the area, on the map.

I have the ability to do this by zip code. I'm not sure if I can do it by city, state yet or not. The way I see it working would be you enter in a zip code and mile range and then it would show you on a map all of the campgrounds in that area. I am all ready doing something similar. when you click on a campground it shows you all of the campgrounds that are close to it. I think a 50 mile range.
