Hello to RV.net We are the rvers who lost our camper on May 22nd. Just a note to let everyone know we are ok have picked out a 2006 Jay Flight 27.5 5th wheel. Jacks Campers in Mitchell SD. They are even letting us live in it and haven't given them a cent. Camper so like the Coachmen is scary. Still in Mitchell SD awaiting finalization of insurances but hope to move on next week and continue our trip to Alaska. Although we are sure we are Mitchells new stimulus package we are doing just fine. Never found out what caused fire never will time to move on. We are still fragile only have to get a wiff of smoke in the air to get me nervous. Want to thank you all for thoughts & prayers. People have been so kind to us.

I, too, am very glad you're able to move on so quickly. Sounds like your insurance company may be doing you right, too. Have an excellent and safe trip to AK.

Lyle

Glad to hear you are moving on. Nice of the RV dealer to let you stay there while you get your affairs in order. Good luck in the transition and enjoy Alaska!

Sounds like a very good RV dealer. So glad to hear the outcome is not so dismal for you. We will be staying in Mitchell, SD next month on our way to Alaska also. Hope you get on your way safe and sound in a short while. May God go with you !!

I am also glad everyone is okay...that is some scary stuff! The wind was blowing so hard, it never had a chance. The smoke was going sideways, not up. Were you able to save the T.V.?

Glad to hear all is working out for you.

One item, please, PLEASE do make sure that the fridge in that 2006 Jayco has had ALL the upgrades and/or recalls performed on it.

Jack's Campers can do it there if needed. Also be aware they have another location near Rapid City, South Dakota. If something unforeseen should happen while on the way with the new rig, they can help out there.

So sorry that you lost your camper but glad you were OK. Reading your post brought back memories, in fact I could ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY smell the smoke again. I mean it was in my nose not just my mind! So I know what you are going through but don't worry you will be better.

Full timing isn't "always camping". It's a different life style living in an RV.

Jack's Campers is a dealer I'd recommend to anyone! They help us once on a Jayco camper warranty, that wasn't even a camper they sold!

Great to hear you are on your way again, but VERY sorry for your losses!
