We are having a problem with the decals on our Host camper. Have any of you successfully dealt with this issue? Our camper is otherwise in good shape and we love it but decals peeling off looks pretty much yucky. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

About all I know you can do is remove and replace with new. A hair dryer will work to heat up the old ones and then peel off slowly. Ive done a few over the years. If you contact Host they may be able to sell you a new set of replacements. They are not hard to put on. Take it slow, work from one end to the other, and smooth them out as you go. Any small air bubbles can be removed by poking a hole in them with a pin and pushing the air out.

Get a can of glass cleaner from your GM dealer (part#992727) it doesn't contain amonia.
Spray the area down with a light mist of the glass cleaner and put the decal(s) on.
The glass cleaner will allow you to move the decal around without being stuck down.
Squegee the decal and the glass cleaner will puch out from underneath. It will take a bit for the cleaner to dry but once dry the decal will be as permanent as factory.
I install a LOT of decal at work and do it this way all the time. With the class cleaner makes it quite forgiving.

I don't think a hair dryer will even come close to working. You'll have a ton of residue. You'll need a heated blade like you can get at Harbor Freight. Then, you are going to have to deal with a ghost if you don't put the same size decal on. Ghost-off is supposed to work to remove ghosts. Driving Force Graphics makes their graphics.

MMM....yucky, yeah I know. How many TC's have you owned? This is my forth one and I rather deal with pure white than awful peeling splash stickers that sun fade the finish and the labor and cost of replacing new ones...even if you can still get them depending on how old it is...Now you make a good case for having none at all..that's why mine doesn't now. MMM...less worries, less cost, the free advertisement. I will tell you it's easier to pressure wash without cringing thinking I'm going to blast them off too. Sorry bout the frustration...hope you can either just get them off but would like to know if you could tell us what and if they can be replaced. If you get sticky stuff on there, try mineral spirits if it is a Filon or fiberglass material. Hit my view profile, you will see.

I appreciate all suggestions. Never thought of ordering an RV without decals ... Actually not a bad idea. As to how many campers we’ve owned, the Host is our fifth. Besides that we’ve owned a 5th wheel, a motor home and too many to count travel trailers. At this time besides the Host camper, we own an Arctic Fox 29 ft travel trailer that we use when we want to camp and aren’t hauling something.

You actually get used to it...Once in a great while you'll be going down the road and see another...it really makes sense though from a lot of standpoints. I saw an all white class A not long ago and if you think about it...if your south most of the time it will reflect a lot of heat from the sun. BarbL that is a lot of RV's and you got to be getting tired of that outside maintenance by now...trust me ...going naked isn't so bad...LOL!

I'm actually quite fond of the decal delete look.
I figure why spend the $$ and advertise for the manufacturer. The manufacturers should be paying "us" to advertising for them instead.
