Hi,
I like to hear from anybody that may went to the Edmonton Indy last year or is going to the Edmonton Indy this year.
I am a Volunteer at the event and it's looks like I may be managing the RV parking areas. I like to hear about last years stay (not the rain, I can not change that), so I can try to make this yeas event better. I am new to the position and need to find out as much as I can.
For those that plan to come this year, I like to hear what kind of expectations you have and maybe I can work on that.
Cheers

We will be there. We booked three RV spots so you will be sure to see us.
We have parked our RV at the Indy for the last two years with a couple of friends.
It was a great time. I sure hope the weather is better this year. last year was a rainy mess.
As for suggestions:
Make sure everyone know what delinates the assigned spot. I thought the markers last year indicated the sides of the spot. It turned out that it was supposed to be lined up with the center of the rig.

That would be a new one to me. We go to several races each year and have been doing so for many years. Markers are ALWAYS indicating the sides of the spot.

PackerBacker,
That's what I thought. But the rep from the Indy came and gave my buddy the information.
I had decided to go back to the office as it was raining like crazy and as I am self-employed I chose to work instead of getting drenched.
Unfortunately, the RV parking at the Indy is a relatively new thing and the organizers really didn't know what they were doing. Northlands was the worst. Octane had some issues but I chalk that up to our illustrious city council dithering on supporting the event until the last possible moment.

It's under a month until the Edmonton Indy roars to life. Our three RV spots right off Turn 13 are confirmed.
Time to start planning the menus and buying the beer...

Last year they in fact marked the center of the spot. There were also a few other problems last year that we are working on and I am waiting for clarification from the Race Organizer.
I have little do do with the lay out of the sites. That's all done for me.
I am also still looking for volunteers to help out. So that is currently one of my biggest priorities.

Have you received the hose rules in the mail? I was told they were mailed last week.

We did receive our package in the mail.
I also checked closer this year and saw that the rules are that the sign is to be in the middle of the trailer.

Last year, we had three sites side by side and were allowed to park the three trailers in a U-shape. We were told that as long as we kept the trailers within the allotted space it was okay.
Will we be able to do this again?
