What does blocking a member actually do? Does that mean I won't see their responses and new posts? I've never used the block a member feature before because I want to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but one in particular....sheesh.

Thanks!

Jeremiah

Block Member has two options.

The first, blocks posts. The effect would be that you don't see any posts that the blocked members makes. (You would see anything another members quotes.)

The second, blocks the member from sending you a private message. Note: If you send a blocked member a private message, he can respond.

Another option you can try too: On the offending post click on "Notify Moderator" in the upper right corner of the post. The moderators will remove the post.

Life's too short to put up with negative people I say. There's always going to be the argumentative, the assumers, those who misinterprest or just are having a bad day. When people ask for input and you give it honestly based on your information and experiences, they should respect that.

By the way, I enjoyed your Memorial Day observations.

Yes, one can use the Notify Moderator link. But, the moderator may or may not delete the post. The moderator link has been used by both sides or "disagreeing" members.

I have several troll like posters blocked. Just got tired of their pointless postings. I don't hang around people I don't like so blocking someone from MY little RV.net world is no different.

No way tandkj!

It's not something that I take lightly. Normally I can deal with someone just messing around a little. This person has been on the forum for less than a year and is a "postmeister" spewing useless info, discouraging people, and generally being an instigator or just saying stuff as fact that just isn't so.

I don't mind disagreements, but trying to cause problems with every post (it seems) just bothers me.

Thanks
