Hi Travelers,

I searched the forum and there appears to be a paucity of postings on RV parks in the Gainesville area. I need to be there in August. Have some work to do at the Veterinary College there. Does anyone have a good experience or RV park to recommend in that area. I prefer nice over close. 40ft 5th wheel and three camping dogs.

Thanks in Advance

There is nothing close. We have been going to Gainesville for years. With dogs in August I would probably recommend Williston Crossings. It has the most shade, large sites and A nice pool. It's about 25 miles but an easy drive.

Double ditto.

In August you and pup will need to grow an extra pair of gills to breathe in the Florida humidity as well.

Williston Crossings is very nice. The KOA in Starke is also nice.If You use 301 to 225 from Starke You will pass the dragstrip & come to 24.If this route is used it will bring you to the University maybe 5 or 10 minutes quicker than the commute from Williston. But either location is easily navigated within 30 minutes. If You come through Lawtey or Starke OBEY yhe posted speed limits.

Try looking in Alachua. There is also one in High Springs.

Thanks for the suggestions. We didn't pick August but we are coming from Texas and no strangers to heat and humidity. Looks like we'll be driving a bit every day.

Yeah I was going to suggest the one in High Springs, it's right off I-75 to the west. Yes it is hot and muggy in August.
