I just purchase a 2010 Windsport. I stopped after two hours on our first trip at a rest area and noticed the generator exhaust had melted the hydraulic fluid holding tank. I can't believe the generator exhaust pipe was run from the manufacturer up against the plastic hydraulic tank. I'm guessing the tank is the wrong size and it extends too far out to where it hit the exhaust or the exhaust has been rerouted up against the tank. Has anyone ever seen this happen before?

THOR MOTOR COACH (TMC) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011-2012 WINDSPORT AND HURRICANE MOTOR HOMES MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 3, 2010, THROUGH AUGUST 18, 2011. ON THESE VEHICLES, THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS CLOSE TO A VEHICLE STORAGE COMPARTMENT. HEAT CAN BUILD UP IN THIS AREA.

Hydraulic fluid is flammable. This is a safety issue!

What's worse is the fluid was smoking and dripping off of the exhaust pipe when I found it.

just checked my 2010 Windsport that shipped January 2010
the genny exaust goes within inches of the hydraulic res
looks like it could be an issue
read the recall, it's for units manufactured from 9/2010 - 8/2012
mine doesn't appear to be in the recall but looks like it may have the same issue

I will be calling Thor today
