Not sure if this has been posted before, but has any one seen a protective cover for the hitch so you do not hit your head and do some damage to your noggin. did this the hard way on thursday morning, replacing batteries and was bent over and turned around and hit the backside of the hitch, requiring staples to the head and blood everywhere. A bottle of Coca Cola cleaned up the driveway. Let it set for about 5 mins. and hosed it off. I wrapped a swim noodle around the back and front of the hitch, but was wondering if there was something better.

Swim noodles are a popular item.

Haven't seen any 'commercially' available cushioned covers

I've searched previous posts and posted the same question. I've also searched around the internet...I haven't yet found a specific product for this.

For as often as I hit my head, I should just wear a helmet.

I have seen a couple types of commercial head protection for the hitch pin box but can't remember the names of the company. If you call the trailer mfg. New Horizons and ask them they should know as it was on a demo model in Mission TX that I saw one of the protectors. The owner of NH was the person showing the trailer and he, Phil, was happy to talk about the head protector though he doesn't manufacture it.

I am bald, a gift from my father and grandfather. My head looks like someone used a cheese grader on it. Since my 30's, I have had the gift of hitting my head on my boats, trucks and my 5th wheel during set up and tear down. I had thought about getting a construction hat but the laughs from the campground galleries stopped that idea.

I learned from my daughter that my grand daughter's softball coaches wear a baseball hat with a plastic liner. I found some of these online and if I remember to wear it, problem solved. Although a we-bit bulkier than a regular ball cap, it looks pretty good.

The best thing is don't test the hardness or your head against any part of your adult toy. I have tested mine many times and the RV clearly is the winner. Ending up on the ground half dazed is not a description in the go camping have fun manual.

Usually I get hit when I am not paying attention and have my mind on something else.

I have seen pin box shrouds, but don't know how much personal protection they offer. My wife is always saying.."watch your head" so far so good...I guess its just a matter of time, befor me or someone else walks into it
