Will, I don't usually say this, but if you do a search of those two places you will find hundreds of comments on all the various cg. This topic has been covered a lot and you will find good information about each cg in the area. My advice is to stay in the area where you plan to spend the most time so you can avoid lots of the traffic which can be bad especially on weekends. If your taking children you may want to choose one cg over the others as some have activities and pools geared more for children. Some cg seem more for adults.

I'm staying a week in August at Bear Cove Village. Very close to Dollywood, off the main drag, and very new. Also one of the cheapest at $271 for a week. Can't wait! Both ladies I spoke to on the phone obviously had a passion for campers and camping
CG
All the sites are concrete, two pools, looks very promising.

Glad you found a place. We stay at Rivers Edge and I have to recommend them. Will be there middle of July and will be our 4th time staying there. Have also stayed in Townsend which we like but find Pigeon Forge is closer to everything we want to do.

We have been at Bear Cove since 4/1/12. It is a nice park and quiet. Just a mile from Dollywood and close to Smoky MT Nat PK. Click on our blog link to see about many of the attractions in the area. It is easy to get to the strip if you want to.
