Since April 30th, I have spent $136 and change on items at Camping World Online. No store close by.

I'm a comparison shopper, so I compared each sales item I purchased with:
Walmart
Amazon
ebay and other rv retail stores online using search engines.

Camping World sales prices for each item was lower.
Finally, My GS membership paid off as each item received included free shipping, including a sofa table and patio mat.

9x12Patio Mat - $44.00, as I previously had a Walmart mat that lasted one season, this mat has a tighter weave and after first use on gravel, I believe it will hold up better. Walmart price $48+.

Also purchased sofa table, 2 side tables, lounge repair kit, flag holder, waste water handle. Could not find a lower price than camping world doing any search.

I'm satisfied with the prices I paid and the quality, shipping and customer service.

That said, they couldn't beat prices on a new 32" 1080p TV, Panasonic Bluray player. Amazon and Walmart had the best prices for those items.

I always compare pricing with shipping and taxes.

So far I'm satisfied.

Their sales prices have been competitive, if not, I look elsewhere.

Your mileage may be different.

???? Sure, I have my problems with Camping World, but really, the "most expensive." I have personally found CW to be cheaper than the RV dealers in my neighborhood for RV specific parts and supplies. I have stopped at many Camping Worlds where knowledgeable people have given excellent service and advice. Sadly that cannot be said of all CWs, but I guess allot depends on who is on shift on a given day. When on the road, and in need of a part or RV supply, it is nice to find a Camping World in the area.
Happy Trails.

I've found the prices to be competitive. They are higher on somethings lower on other. I have found them lower than Amazon on somethings and cheaper than buying direct from manufacturer in some cases. I have also found them higher on somethings too. Like shopping for anything you have to look around. CW can not always be the least expensive just as Home Depot or Costco is not always the cheapest. The internet and free shipping has put CW as a go to first for me

What prices are you talking about. I've always found a lot of prices equal to or lower than other stores on a lot of items. Our local RV repair can not match the prices that Camping World sells fridges, A/C, Satellites dishes, and a lot of other major items.
If you're talking internet than that may be a big price difference. The problem with buy over the internet is you can not inspect or insure it's the right item from a picture.

X2 ..plus, if I screw up and order something that is the wrong size or doesn't fit I can return it to CW without being held up for outrageous "restocking" charges. There is even one of these on-line RV places that won't let you cancel an order before it ships without a penalty. I have bough t from the on-line guys from time to time but am very selective about what I purchase because I dislike that "gotcha" concept they use. Now with free shipping for members CW is leveling the playing field even more.

If by cheaper you mean Wal Mart........I'd much rather sip on a cup of coffee and shop, and spend a little more at CW, than wander around that warehouse.

Lets reset and level the playing field for the benefit of our OP whose 1st and apparently only post is to complain about the company that also supports these forums (in case anyone is interested what some of the operating expenses go to).

How about we REMOVE all internet sales outlets that for the most part are nowhere nearly as well stocked as CW and certainly have nowhere near the operating overhead. We also remove Wal-Mart that sells basically toilet paper and sewer hoses, or whatever fits in one 8’ wide shelf. This is a for-profit operation, not a mom n’ pop store, or one poked in the corner of the local RV sales lot that is more of a courtesy than anything else. If senior management wants to support NASCAR, that is their prerogative, just as it is to support this forum. And likewise to pull financial support from either on a whim!

I also shop around, and have several RV parts and supply stores within 50 miles of me, and been to them all… In most (not) all cases, CW is the same or lower than the competition. And this is not factoring in their ‘membership’ that is not required, so I don’t know where our new poster comes up with that statement? This isn’t a membership store, so I don’t know what the problem is? Don’t want to join? Don’t join!

And as a side note: Since the CEO became active on this forum, and PROactive at resolving what were arguably legitimate CW issues, I have seen the overall complaints drop to almost nothing on the forums.

We just got back from a 3 week trip and had several needs along the way. We stopped at Wal-Mart and couldn't find any of what we needed. We googled CW and walaa, we found everything and most was on sale or equal to prices online. We stopped at several CW's and found the people friendly and helpful. If OP wants to shop elsewhere, do it--no different than grocery store price differences, some things on sale, some not but we find it all equals out in the long run. I like the free shipping for members and got a real bargain on a Road Trip grill that we love!

Duh, Shipping is not free if you have to buy a membership to get it.

I've paid more in shipping charges on one order from other online stores than what my membership costs. So after that all shipping is free. The cost of membership, .50 per week.
