I need to help a friend align his new dish for dishnet HD on the eastern arc 3 satellites. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated. Can I use a standard signal strength meter and if so, how do you know which sat you are on?
Thanx

If it only needs to be done once, contact a local installer.

BTW, what does this have to do with RVing?

Nothing other than I am a member of the forum and this type of technical question is discussed regularly whether it be on an RV or home.
What is your problem?

Bad? No, not just once. But I and others were thinking this was for an RV, and if so, would be recurring. And that would be 'bad' as it's not easy, and you have no experience doing it. An installer should probably be doing it on a home.

So let's assume I am setting it up on a tripod at each campsite. It seems as it should be easier than doing a DirecTV HD SWM dish. As best as I can tell they are all the same band (KU?). It has an output for each sat. Will a standard receiver powered inline meter work?

These questions I cannot answer - I am experienced with DTV SWM only. I assume it's also relatively difficult with Dish.

I would think that if you had a dish for the Eastern Arch Satellite, it should not be hard to set up the dish for that system.
