Fairly new RVer. On return from wintering south a year ago, I parked my Fleetwood (Allison Trans 4000 with pushbutton shifter) and shut it down. Now, a message on computer indicates simply "Park Set in Gear". The computer does not show a specific code other than that message. How do I get it back to neutral to enable starting ? When I leave turned on, or activate the ignition key to start position, the display goes blank although the red mode light is on. If I just leave the ignition key turned on, the display eventually goes to the cats eyes display.
It all seems so simple, I'm caught in gear, can't get it to shift to neutral and can't start it without it being in neutral. Nowhere in the Chassis manual or Allison transmission manual do I see a description of this problem or direction to reset.
I just read your post. We just bought a preowned RV and this message just came up on the message center and there is no information any where to be found on how to fix this. What was your solution to this problem.
Many times a newbie poster finds a solution and never returns...
If I was in your shoes, ajlowden, I'd disconnect the batteries and let it sit for a while. Don't know if that will help, but it shouldn't hurt anything. It might reset the tranni memory of the previous owners driving style.
